Her subjectshave been pleased by her genuine interest in them, and she has received many notes of thanks for the quality of her interviews and articles.. In 2008, Shelley decided to complete her English degree at UNC-Greensboro. While a full-time student, she worked in the University's Office for Adult Students, where, among other duties, she wrote bios on outstanding non-traditional-age students for the office website. Also while a student, she conducted a class for the Burlington Writers Club on "The Art of the Interview." A poem she wrote was published in the campus literary magazine, The Coraddi. Shelley received her B.A. in English in December, 2010, graduating summa cum laude, and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.
Currently, Shelley writes English instructional materials for ReadTheory.org and EnglishForEveryone.org. Her freelance writing interests include: non-profits and ministries; marriage, parenting and grandparenting; adult education; Baby Boomer and "empty nester" topics; vegetarianism; nutrition; women's health; frugality; cheap decorating; and the lives of various professionals.
With her husband, Shelley lives in Orange County, North Carolina. She likes to visit any place she's never been before. She's a fan of farmer's markets and flea markets, used book shops, jazz, dogs, and healthy baking (makes killer granola bars).
